Volunteer with Envirothon BC !
Share your knowledge of environmental issues and the natural world with
curious students. Foster youth involvement in local conservation initiatives
and start youth on the path towards active roles in their communities.
Envirothon BC relies on its volunteers to provide
valuable environmental education to high school students. In return,
the volunteers gain invaluable experience in a non-profit environment.
There are several ways to get involved as an Envirothon BC volunteer:



Station
Leader: Introduce students to the basics
of fieldwork. Lead interactive outdoor activities for one or more
of Envirothon's topics (Aquatic Ecology, Soils, Forest Ecology, Wildlife, Mapping).
Commitment: Must be available during the Fieldwork weekend
and/or the Provincial Competition
(Late April or Early May 2010).
Qualifications: Background in Natural Sciences or Environmental
Studies.
Fundraiser:
Research funding opportunities. Write grant proposals and contact
potential sponsors. Must have excellent communication skills.
Commitment: Approximately 4 hrs/week for a minimum of
3 months. (Work may be done from home)
